Amendments Made to the Settlement Regulation on Administrative Fines Imposed under the Law No. 6502
In the Official Gazette No. 33027, dated 24 September 2025, the Regulation on Amendments to the Settlement Regulation on Administrative Fines Imposed under the Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers (the “Regulation”) was published. The Settlement Regulation regulates the settlement mechanism for administrative fines imposed under the Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers.
With the Regulation:
- The Ministry of Trade (the “Ministry”) may, when deemed necessary, establish settlement commissions within the provincial trade directorates. These commissions are to be composed of the provincial trade director as chairperson and two personnel to be designated by the Directorate General for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance (the “Directorate General”).
- The scope of duties and powers of the settlement commissions shall be determined by the Ministry.
- Secretariat services for the commissions shall be provided by the Directorate General at the central level and by the relevant provincial trade directorates at the local level.
The Regulation prepared by the Ministry shall enter into force on 1 October 2025.
